Tober Fund steps in—to ensure pets get the care they need, whether it's a routine visit or a life-saving procedure.
From now until the end of October, every donation will be matched 1:1, up to $25,000. You can make sure pets stay healthy and avoid emergency situations. Double your impact today and help give pets the care they deserve!

Subaru Loves Pets!
This October, we’re partnering with Subaru of New England for their annual #SNELovesPets Campaign! As part of their Subaru Love Promise and Subaru Loves Pets commitment, their campaign shows that whether they live in our homes or in the wild, Subaru is committed to keeping animals across New England safe and healthy.
The #SNELovesPets Campaign benefits shelters in all six New England states by providing an opportunity to raise both awareness and funds. Subaru of New England hopes this social media campaign will encourage others to adopt, not shop, so shelter animals can find their forever homes. The campaign is also a fundraising opportunity for twelve non-profit animal shelters throughout New England (including us!).
Getting involved is easy - and we encourage all pet owners to participate! We know you probably have dozens of pictures or videos of your best friend on your phone’s camera roll.
During the month of October, post your pet on Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), or TikTok using the hashtag #SNELovesPets (be sure the post is public for visibility). For each unique post, Subaru of New England will pledge $10 to local New England animal shelters like us, up to $75,000 total! The goal is to receive 7,500 photos, ensuring each animal shelter will receive $6,250!
At the end of this year’s campaign, Subaru of New England will have surpassed a 10-year cumulative donation of over $600,000 to local New England shelters. The more photos submitted, the more we can raise awareness on the importance of adopting!
Trunk or Treat 2025
Brattleboro Subaru and the Brattleboro Reformer are excited to welcome everyone to the 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat Event!
Brattleboro's biggest and safest Halloween celebration for children of all ages. Windham County Humane Society will be present to hand out candy from our animal rescue van!

Giant Outdoor Book Sale at Book Lovers on Flat Street
Make a donation to WCHS of at least $5, and help yourself to 3 free books! Purchase additional sale books for only $1 each. No Limit!
The sale will take place outside Book Lovers at 49 Flat Street, Brattleboro, on Sunday, October 12, from 11 am to 6 pm. Fair weather only. Rain Date: Sunday, October 19.
Puppy Love Film
PUPPY LOVE tells a personal story with a universal message. “My puppy and his littermates suddenly became paralyzed and the vets told us to put them down," explains writer-director Gail Gilbert. The documentary follows a literal “life and death” struggle as everything from Chinese herbs to chicken soup is used to nurse the pups back to health.
"PUPPY LOVE is more than a movie about dogs -- it's a story about the power of the human spirit to conquer things that seem unconquerable." said Gilbert.
Ticketing: $15.00 (plus $2.50 per ticket service charge)
Doors: 6:30 p.m., program start: 7:00 p.m.

Walk for Animals 2025
Join us at Walk for Animals, and raise money to provide food, shelter, veterinary care and new loving homes to over 1,500 animals who WCHS aided and saved this year. Every single dollar YOU raise makes it possible for needy animals to get well and find new loving homes.
Pins for Purrs 2025
Join us at Brattleboro Bowl for WCHS’s first annual Pins for Purrs bowling night on Wednesday, July 16 from 6-8 p.m., and bring the whole family!
Your ticket includes two hours of bowling, bowling shoes, pizza, and a soft drink.
All proceeds benefit the Windham County Humane Society.

50-50 Rescue Raffle 2025
The Rescue Raffle runs from March 20, 2025, to June 20, 2025. Ticket sales end at noon on June 19, 2025, or when sold out. The raffle drawing will take place at 1 p.m. on June 20, 2025.
The lucky winner (which could be you!) will take home 50% of the Rescue Raffle Jackpot, just in time to plan a great summer vacation! The other 50% will go directly towards helping homeless pets in our community.
Each raffle ticket costs $10. Ticket sales are now closed.
Spring Appeal

WCHS is dedicated to rescuing dogs that are in imminent danger of euthanasia.
Countless animals are faced with the heartbreaking reality of being euthanized in overcrowded shelters where resources are limited. These shelters often lack the necessary space and financial support for medical care.

Grafton Village Holiday Festival
Phinney's Phriends are offering our 2025 Dogs & Cats of Grafton calendars for a $15 donation. We also have our famous Catnip Mice, holiday plaid bow ties, other treats for dogs and an array of items for pet lovers.
Our little glass huts are located beside the Grafton Cheese store, beside the Phelps Barn. We are open 10 am - 3 pm on Saturday, December 7. We will close for the Dog parade 11-11:30 am.
We accept cash and checks. All proceeds will go to the Windham County Humane Society.

Pet Remembrance Night
Cherish the pets you’ve loved by purchasing a Lantern of Love for display on Pet Remembrance Night, Monday, August 26, from 7-9 p.m. at Windham County Humane Society
Lanterns of Love will illuminate the night inside and around the newly expanded adoption & pet wellness center.
The first Lantern of Love is a $20 donation; additional lanterns may be purchased for $10 each.
Community Open House
Mark August 24 on your calendar.
Join other pet-loving friends at WCHS’s first Open House in our newly expanded and renovated building. We’ll have building tours, including the pet wellness center, adoption rooms, updated dog kennel, and community space.
Kids' activities include adopting and vetting a “stuffed pet,” crafting a pet toy for a shelter animal, spinning and winning fabulous prizes, games, and much more.
Rabies and/or Microchip Clinics
Our Monthly Rabies clinics are easy and affordable. Plus, you can get a microchip for your pet at the same time. Your pet doesn’t need a Rabies vaccination, but you want to get him microchipped? That is okay, book a time! Rabies shots cost $24 and microchips are $25.
