Windham County Humane Society is proud to partner with United Spay Alliance, and serve as the Statewide Leader for Vermont. Together, we are overcoming obstacles to help more families find the resources they need to get their pets spayed and neutered. Because when more pets are spayed and neutered, fewer animals enter shelters.
We support Feline Fix by Five, a program of Marian’s Dream and United Spay Alliance, which strives to increase awareness of the ideal time to spay/neuter cats – before five months of age.
NOTE: WCHS offers discounted spay/neuter services for Windham County residents who may not be able to afford to use a veterinary clinic, as well as for those caring for stray or unowned cats. Please review our Pet Care Assistance (PCA) Program to determine your eligibility and/or apply.
We also accept Vermont Spay Neuter Incentive Program (VSNIP) vouchers for approved Vermont residents. Please note that VSNIP currently has a waitlist; appointments should be scheduled only after a voucher has been received.
New Hampshire has a low-cost spay/neuter program that is similar to VSNIP: NH residents can apply for assistance, which if approved, results in a ~$25 "copay" for spay/neuter services at participating NH clinics.
